Short Film Story Reel

This is my section of the story reel for the short film we've been developing over the summer.  The title on this reel is just a working title.  We just decided as a class that it will be called: "Party Pest."

The story is: a little boy is having a birthday party, but his little sister keeps ruining everything.  When he gets his big present, a big wheel bike, and his sister steals it before he gets a chance to play with it, it's the last straw.  He takes off on the bike to get away, but his sister chases after him.  It's a race!  In the heat of the chase, sister gets hurt. Worried he'll get in trouble, Brother begrudgingly gives Sister his bike to get her to stop crying, but she can't even reach the pedals, so she's not going anywhere.  Then he notices a bunch of papers scattered all over the ground.  They are drawings she made of the two of them playing and going on adventures together.  He realizes she really cares about him and just wants to play - she doesn't mean to ruin his fun.  A change of heart, Brother pushes Sister around the yard on the bike and it turns out to be a great birthday after all.

We go into animation on Party Pest in the fall and (fingers crossed) it will be done before Christmas.  I say fingers crossed because there are only four of us in the class so it's going to be quite a lot of animatin' :)  Learn by doing!!!

Forgive the motormouth narration.  We were asked to narrate the shots, but the cuts happen so fast it was hard to get the words in without sounding like an auctioneer.
